Context

Compensation defines the behaviours, capabilities, and qualities that you value and reward. It is a fundamental component for any company and a key factor in attracting and retaining talent. Helping people understand how their pay is calculated and how developing their capabilities can increase their compensation will go a long way toward cultivating a culture of trust, transparency, and performance.

How does the template work?

The calculator is linked to two Notion databases. The first database records roles and base compensation rates, while the second database captures factors such as location, levels, and steps. Once configured, the databases are used to generate a compensation calculator that can be embedded anywhere in Notion, or any site that supported embedded links. You can try out the demo calculator at the bottom of the page.

Who is it for?

Small, progressive companies that want to create a culture of clarity and transparency by opening up a critical component for any company; how you pay people. By making your compensation framework clear, consistent, and accessible, you can build trust among your team and create more equitable outcomes for your people.
